Key Money-Making Insights

Nick reveals the foundation for profitable AI agencies: identifying client pain points in three core areas (revenue, savings, owner time), scaling cold outreach with 9-12 mailboxes sending 270-360 emails daily at $5-10 per domain cost, and stacking service offerings rather than limiting yourself to single solutions. The key is systematically targeting these universal business problems with automation solutions.

Top Money-Making Q&As

Question 1

Should I offer CRM management or automation consulting as a freelancer? Which is better long-term?

False dichotomy. Do both. Add automations as an upsell to your CRM management. Use your CRM social proof to sell automations. CRM management can be productized more than you think—lots of recurring problems to solve (lead gen, call logging, automatic proposals, follow-ups, onboarding, etc). Project management and CRM overlap now. Stack your offers, don't pigeonhole yourself.

Question 2

How many domains and email addresses should I use for cold email outreach when starting an agency? What's the daily frequency?

9-12 mailboxes total. 3 mailboxes per domain, so 3-4 domains. Each mailbox sends 30 emails per day, so 270-360 emails/day total. Domain cost: $5-10 each. Per mailbox: about $3 if using Zapmail (use code NYX for 10% off). This is my beginner guideline, scale up if you have more resources.

Question 3

How do you identify the pain points of companies you provide as leads with a tool like Apify?

Pain points fall into three buckets: revenue, savings (margins), and owner time. For revenue: not enough leads, poor conversion on meeting booking, poor closing, or bottlenecks in onboarding. For savings: bloated payroll, underutilized resources, unnecessary software, admin, taxes, HR. For owner time: project management, SOPs, accessory staff. Adjust the language to fit the industry you're targeting, but it's always some version of these. When in doubt, pattern match from front to back of the business.
